Summertime Skin Care Tips...

June 29, 2013

Summer is here and it's even more important to protect our skin. I'm very passionate about only using natural products in my home and on my skin. If it's not safe to eat then you shouldn't be applying it to the most permeable organ in your body....the skin
  1. Sunscreen -10 drops helichrysum, 5 drops lavender, 3 drops myrrh, 1 oz fractionated coconut oil.   Apply every few hours.
  2. Sunburn Relief -10 drops frankicense, 10 drops Lavender, 3 drops peppermint, 2 oz fractionated coconut oil.  You can also simply put lavender in a water bottle with water and mist, or apply directly.  Don't use cheap lavender, might contain Lavendin -which is a skin irritant or worse might be synthetic which will have no benefit and possibly irritating to the skin. Also, some companies will use chemical solvents to extract the oil, these are also skin irritants.  For best results, stay with doTERRA.
  3. I personally also use Raw Shea Butter as a natural sunblock. Works like a charm and keeps your skin extra moisturized. Apply every few hours and definitely after being in the water. www.sheabutterhut.com
  4. Insect repellant -For an effective alternative use TerraShield.  Apply directly, rub into skin or put few drops in small water bottle with water and mist.  This stuff really works, just try it.  It does however, have some side effects, such as; elevated mood, elevated immune system, improves skin, and smells good. Not to mention I feel much better about protecting my children with such a natural product. Lasts up to 6 hours.
  5. Cool Mist -peppermint in water bottle with water and mist.
