My little ones absolutely love those fruit pouches that you are seeing all over the place. From your local grocery store to Costco, to Starbucks, you cannot miss them and neither can your kiddos! Don't get me wrong, it's great that kids are getting in the extra fruit and veggies, but sometimes it comes with extra sugar and preservatives. On occasion I will buy them, but I always think "I can make this, and make it much healthier!". I decided to buy the pouches via Amazon.com the other day and had some fun in the kitchen this morning. Today I made Peach, Carrot, Mixed Berry, and Banana. I could have easily slipped in some spinach, but I didn't have any. Feel free to try any combo of fruit, veggies, and super foods that you think your kids will like. Ingredients:
1/2 - 1 cup organic rice milk (or whatever planted-based milk you like)
3 raw carrots
1 cup mixed berries
1 tbsp. chia seeds (optional)
Blend all the ingredients in a Vitamix Blender and pour 7 oz into each pouch. Makes about 4 pouches.
